RV Fulltime Work and Adventures at the Petrified Forest Arizona

National Park Visits, Nomadic Life

RV Nomad works and hikes at the Petrified Forest

10.19.22 Interstate 40, Meteor Crater Rest Area, Arizona

Yesterday I left Flagstaff, Arizona for the high deserts of Arizona. My final destination this Autumn is Texas and Thanksgiving with my friend, Hunter. She lives in Austin, Texas now after moving from the Tucson area.

For now I’ll simply trek eastward rolling down Interstate 40 to visit the beautiful sights along the way.

My first stop after leaving Flagstaff was, well, a not so pretty rest stop for an overnight stay. The location is called Meteor Crater Rest Area and I read it had scenic trail one could follow. Unfortunately, I cruised in and parked a bit late. I only had time to cook dinner, sleep and move on. Rest areas are generally not a place I choose to explore unless they are touted as a destination with a trailhead or historic location. This was neither.

Plus, I hiked an amazing aspen trail yesterday in Flagstaff. Today I was ready for travel and work.

My goal this day is to find WiFi so I can upload more YouTube videos. I have my sights on the Holbrook, Arizona public library.

Breakfast finished, dishes done and a quick glance to be sure everything is secure inside and out of my rig and I’m off!

Later That Day

Well, the Holbrook Public Library was a bust. I drove by the library to find little to no parking for my RV and for some reason the location was not vibing with me, so I left. I’m not too hard pressed to get my YouTube videos scheduled today; I’m ahead a few days and can afford to wait a while. (Later I did all my work at Starbucks in Gallup, New Mexico.)

Since I wasn’t going to work online I figured I’d edit and write offline in a beautiful location. I headed to Petrified Forest National Park just a few miles from Holbrook, Arizona.

I keep an annual passport to the National Parks not only for exploring, camping and hiking but for working with a gorgeous view too! How many people can say they did their shift in a National Park? (if they don’t work there already.) When I spend the day chilling and working in a park I’m reminded that the lifestyle I chose was a right fit for me.
